Bit more choppy at Holm Bay this morning but still had a fab swim with Catherine & Phil. Duckman was saying a tropical 8.2 degrees on average. I did 1k (25mins) in support of #LewisPugh who is due to do his 1k swim in East Antarctica soon, in a lot colder conditions than I could imagine. Fab swim at Holm bay this morning with Catherine, Phil and Ed. It's a beautiful place for swim exploring and I'm sure we'll be back for more. Duckman and Phil's duck were saying about 8.2 degrees average. Amazing being in the flight path too with the planes going overhead....Thanks to Catherine for the selfie photo. Fantastic swim round the island at the mouth of the river creed this afternoon with Catherine and Margaret. We got plenty of odd looks and comments from passerby's. Duckman was saying 4.1 degrees on the fresh water side and 7.1 degrees on the more salty side. Am sure we'll be back again for more. 300 metres @ 12 minutes This afternoon, Eddie & myself swam over to Great Bernera, and by doing this we also swam under the Bridge over the Atlantic. Not a long swim but a very interesting one, that's for sure. Knowing your entry & exit points and looking at the flow before you get in, is important. Water 5 degrees, Air 7 degrees, 70mph gusts and pouring rain made for a very tough swim session. Stacey and myself got in for a bit. Fantastic to see two inspiring swimmers out in punishing conditions but still determined to get a minimum of their set time in the water. Even passing vehicles stopped to watch the guys... He had the squad running up and down before getting into the 8 degree sea for a swim through the powerful waves, with the odd wipe out making for an entertaining time. 5 degree air temp along with a decent wind chill and rain, it was your typical Scottish weather. Great times...500 metres@15 minutes for me.
