A great time over in Uig today with people, including the two legends and United Nations Patrons Lewis Pugh & Ben Fogle. It was Carnish in the morning and Reef Beach in the afternoon, which was a full on swim/run/swim/run in some superb waves and wintery conditions. Duckman was saying anything from 5.5 at carnish river to 7.5 at reef beach. Thanks to everyone who turned up for this. 900 metres @ 16 minutes @ reef beach for me. Great turn out for a New Years Day dook at Bosta Beach, Bernera. Lewis & Max were in full training mode after the group of us ran into the 7.3 degree sea. Was good to catch up media star swimmer Calum Maclean again. Between the sand blasting on your body and the waves spraying into you, it made for an entertaining morning swim, especially in the Tweedo's. 800 metres@14minutes for me. Happy New Year everyone. Here's to many more wild swimming this year/decade. |
