Cracking morning for a swim at the Ui Church with a sky full of colours and the reef looking like a wildlife sanctuary. Duckman was saying 11.4 degrees.

Slight windchill in the air this morning on the Minch side of the Braighe but it didn't put Jo and myself off going for a swim there. Plenty of wildlife around and about, loved having the birds circling us overhead. Duckman was saying 11 degrees. Stunning morning for a swim along the braighe. Air temp 5, sea temp 11. Certainly felt fresh... Fantastic Socially Distant Swim Camp over on Scarp with Grant and Stuart. The weather on Saturday was so clear compared to on Lewis. We walked over to Traigh Mheilein, dropped our kit, then headed over to have a peek at Loch na Cleabhaig that has the cottage on it before gearing up for a swim over to Scarp itself, setting up camp and going for a wonder up the hill for some scenic views around and about. The mist came down at night but on Sunday morning it was clear enough for a swim back to the jetty at Hushinish. Had good yarns with folk on Scarp and at Hushinish over the weekend. Duckman was saying 13-14 degrees average. Good times indeed......Some photo's by Stuart & Grant. Bumped into Matthew and Jo at the Ui Church this morning as I was going for a swim. Tide was nice and high as we're very close to springs. Was great to be able to swim over the middle reef for a change and even stand up on it. Duckman was saying 12.5 degrees. Check out the bubbles video on the right hand side. Bumped into Jo and Matthew in the sea this morning down near the Garrabost Jetty. Keeping a safe social distance, swimming through the arch, which is always stunning. A fantastic way to start the day. Duckman was saying 12.5 degrees. Great turnout for a swim round the sea stacks at Giordail beach this morning. Nice and chilled out swimming through the Hebridean turquoise waters is just fantastic. Duckman was saying 12.5 degrees average. Cracking morning for a pre work swim in the sea. Duckman was saying a slightly colder than yesterday 11.5 degrees. Fantastic scenery all around but especially at the reef. Nice swim at the braighe this morning before work. Duckman was saying 12 degrees average. Love pondering around the reef in the middle. Good times.... Good turn out this morning for the early bird swim session at the Ui Church end of the braighe. A wee bit of recording for the Gaelic media. Cracking swim as always over at the reef. |
