With an air temp of 4 and sea temp of 9.4 (shallows) to 10.4 further out, it was definitely a fresh morning swim today. Birds flying over and a seal having a nosey at us. As always, the Ui Church is a beautiful backdrop for a swim.

A cracking fresh morning swim down at Swordale Bay. Stunning scenery, wildlife and sky colours to be seen. As always, a great way to start the day and in good company too. Duckman was saying 10.4 degrees average. Nice and sheltered for a couple of laps round the island at the mouth of the river creed this afternoon. The looks from folk out enjoying the castle grounds are just the best, lol. Duckman was saying 8.2 degrees in the fresh water & 10 degrees in the salt water. Good times with good company on World Swim Day Nice fresh swim down at the Ui Church this morning. Duckman was saying 10.1 degrees average. Fab way to start the day... A quality bunch of photos, lol, from this morning's wavefest at the UI Church with Jo. Not that you can see it but Duckman was saying 10.3 degrees... Swam round the edge of Little Bernera for a change and into the lagoon, passing by Eilean Fir Chrothair then over to land at Cealasaigh. Was just starting to set camp when 4 kayakers were passing by and I invited them to join me if they liked. We all camped on the island and had a campfire on the stoney shore along with some drinks and stories. Good times with good company. Took a different route on the way back. Duckman was saying an average of 11 degrees. A few photo's from this mornings swim at the Ui Church end of the Braighe. High tide and flat calm. Duckman was having a wee disco with his light flashing away at 10.2 degrees... Cracking skyline this morning to view while swimming...no, the cat didn't get in ....10.3 degrees, 20 minutes. Nice waves... Fantastic swim camp over to Pabbay Beag, which is just across the lagoon from Pabbay Mhor that lies off Reef beach in Uig. Choppy conditions on the way over but nothing too bad for the bag to handle. Lots of wildlife to see and hear as well as so much stunning scenery to view all around. Good times..... Quick skins swim over to the reef and back this morning. Decent waves and current on the go to make it an interesting challenge. Duckman was saying 11.6 degrees average. In training for the polar bear challenge. |
