Thanks to Jamie for encouraging us to go out swimming this morning. Headed to the broadbay side of the braighe, with duckman saying a roasty toasty 12.8 degrees. Fantastic way to start the day with Jamie, Mairi and Malcolm.

Great to get a double dip in today, firstly at 0630 at the Braighe with Jamie, Mairi & Malcolm. Then after work, over at Shawbost with Anna. Duckman was saying anything from 11.4 in the morning to 13.4 in the afternoon. Thanks to Chris for the invite to do some coastal swimming this evening. What a spot it is, the colour of the water is just amazing. Duckman was saying 13 degrees average. Swim camping over on the island of Flodaigh, which lies off Bosta beach on Great Bernera. Flodaigh is teaming with wildlife on it and around it above and below sea level. I was swimming with seals on the way into the bay, watching gannets diving, had 2 geese sitting near my camp, had a dolphin or porpoise swim under me on the way back. I set up camp facing out towards Bearasaigh and old hill. Bearasaigh is where pirate Neil Macleod was based. Click here for more information about him. Thursday pre work swim with Mairi on the minch side of the braighe. The sea was like silk but had a nice wee bump to it. Plenty of wildlife on the go, above and below, which included a big shoal of sand eels. Duckman was saying a tropical 12.9 degrees. Great swim with Malcolm this morning at the braighe. Very fresh in the shallows at 10.3 degrees. Felt warmer further out. Anyone lost a teddy? Cracking way to start the week with an adventure swim through the magnificent arch at Garrabost this morning. Mairi hadn't been there before but I reckon she'll be back again. Duckman was saying a toasty 12.7 degrees, which is no bad for 0630. Cracking after work swim in Point today. Nice and sheltered in the bay and I really enjoyed swimming with the thousands of sand eels. Duckman was saying 12.8 degrees average. Nice way to start the weekend...Check out the video on the right hand side. A bit of a choppy swim with Mairi this morning at Swordale bay. Wee fishees and a variety of jellyfish too. Duckman was saying 13.1 degrees average. Spur of the moment cool down swim after work today at Swordale Bay...Duckman was saying 13 degrees average. A couple of jellies and plenty of wee fishes too....Check out the video on the right hand side |
