Had a wee test of my swim camping kit today, without any camping actually happening but I wanted to try it all in the Lomo rucksack and take it for a swim at the swimming gully, as the weather was awesome. A few things still to add/change but the idea is there and everything worked fine. Weight felt fine to carry and it floated and towed while swimming without any bother. Had some on-lookers wondering what I was doing carrying the rucksack into the sea...Duckman was saying 12.5 degrees....Roll on when we can actually go swim camping properly.

Thanks to Dolina for coming along for a social distance swim this afternoon. Was fairly busy with paddleboarders and kayakers too, which is understandable given the weather and phase 1 under way. Duckman saying a toasty 13 degrees. Good times through the arch, round the island and through the rocks... Fatherson local radius outing this afternoon with Joseph in the kayak and me swimming at a social distance. Duckman was saying anything between 11.6 and 13.1 degrees. What a place for an adventure. Will be back there again soon. Always great to be in the water...Stay local and safe... A dook in one of the pools on Laxdale river today to celebrate getting older. Love the way the sea looks and the sun glancing through..... All being well, from around the 28th May 2020, in Scotland we'll officially be able to get out open water swimming, among other sports as part of phase 1. Hopefully people will 'stay local' and not abuse the rules, which could see us back at square one. |
