Great time in Harris today with Fiona, Kim, Donnie & Ed. A hike out to the tidal pool for a swim in the stunning surrounding scenery, then it was over to Huisinis for another dip in the turquoise Hebridean waters. Duckman was saying 14.5 to 15.5 degrees. West Side of Lewis SwimHike. Walked over to Tom Tolaige and also to see Stac a Phris. This coastline is just awesome. Had a wee swim near the arch at Tom Tolaige but deemed it unsafe to attempt a swim through. The sunlight beaming through was amazing to watch. Duckman was saying a choppy 13.6 degrees. Have to say that the Lomo shoes are great for walking over stones. Favourite adventure swimming footwear in 10 years. Click here for the link to the YouTube video from the outing. A self isolating hike out to Molinginis for a swim in the bay there, in me twammers (Harris Tweed Jammers), before heading back to the car. With breath taking views to be had, it was great to get away from it all even for a short while. Duckman was saying 6.4 degrees. Will be back again for more swim adventures when the world is back to normal... PS camera battery died, so had to use mobile phone but think I was holding it the wrong way round. Video is sped up x4 for most of it. Click here for the link to the YouTube video from the outing. Fantastic SwimHike with Stuart this morning out to the Conachro bay tidal pool in Harris. A cracking natural lagoon full of wildlife and it even has a wee beach too which seemed a good place to scoff some jaffa cakes before they melted in the sun. Duckman was saying a toasty 14.6 degrees. An absolutely stunning place. Click here for the link to the YouTube video from the outing. Heb Sea Swimmers outing in North Lochs with Grant & Stuart. Beautiful November morning for a wee adventure swim over in Ranish. Stunning scenery from up on Beinn Mhor, then swimming in with the tide in to Loch Grimshader. Duckman was saying anything from 7.3 to 8.3 degrees. A grand day out for sure. 8.9km @ 3hr 44 minutes. Click here for the link to the YouTube video from the outing. We walked from Urgha to Molinginis, then swam round to Loch Trolamaraig and then rejoined the Postman's path walking past the abandoned village of Gearraidh Lotaigear up to the finish point on the Rhenigidale road. We saw Porpoises, a seal, an eagle and plenty of other bird life too. Duckman was saying 10.2 degrees. We certainly have fantastic scenery around our islands.... Stuart Baird and myself had a great walk around the coast from Gress towards Sialabhig Mor beach. Some scenery even on a wet & windy day. Mostly walking with a bit of caving and arch swimming, then we swam round to land on the beach. Duckman was saying 12.4 degrees. 8.13km overall @ 3hours 41 minutes. We'll be back in decent weather for a full on coastal swim..... Click here for the link to the YouTube video from the outing. |
