Taransay SwimHike - 07.08.2023

Another fantastic day out with Kellie, Rebecca, Isla and Connor - this time on a boat trip (thanks to Borve Lodge) from Horgabost to Taransay landing at the beautiful Paible and after a briefing from the owner of the island the 5 of us hiked over to Uidh for a look around there then it was on to check out the natural arch which is stunning to see before we headed back to Paible where Kellie, Rebecca, Connor and myself had a swim in the crystal clear water's there. The 6 hours on Taransay passed in a flash and again we were lucky with the weather. We'll definitely be back there again.

Stiomrabhaigh SwimHike - 06.08.2023

A fantastic day for a hike in South Lochs from Orinsay over to the deserted village of Stiomrabhaigh with Kellie, Rebecca, Isla and Connor. On the way there we went up and over the hill and on the way back we went round the base of the hill for a change. Connor and myself had a swim in Tob Stiomrabhaigh which was amazingly clear. A bit of rain and midge's didn't spoil our afternoon out, we all enjoyed it as you can tell by the footage near the end of the video 🤣

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

I've been a swimmer all my life and over the last several years I've done many challenging open water swims for charity all around our Islands which include the Sound of Barra & the Sound of Harris and both the Little & the Big Minch Channels to name a few.

Having a real passion for open water swimming, I spend a lot of my spare time looking for and discovering amazing new swim spots around the Islands.

I set up The Hebridean Sea Swimmers group in 2011 for all swimmers that live in or visit The Hebrides and it now has over 1000 members. I regularly meet up with visiting swimmers as I love to freely show off our Islands stunning swim locations.

SwimCamping and SwimHiking are my new adventures and having such an amazing playground on my doorstep is fantastic, double bagging my kit into the Lomo waterproof rucksack and swimming to an island for an overnight stay or longer is just the best.

Feel free to get in touch via the contact forms at the top of the page.
