Great day out in Pairc,South Lochs with Stuart, with a swim in Loch Gaineamhaich then a slog over the moor to Loch Shanndabhat swimming through the small channel to Loch Mhor Stiomrabhaigh. Getting out and following the river to the deserted village of Stiomrabhaigh (an oasis in the middle of moorland) for a look around before heading across to Loch Shaghachain for the final swim of the day with a walk back to the beautiful village of Orinsay. Duckman was saying anything from 13.6-14.5 degrees. Not forgetting 2 eagles, a buzzard and a large bird preying on a smaller bird (not sure if it got away) and a white throated diver. Stunning scenery! Click here for info on Stiomrabhaigh

Click here for the Island Cruising website link Fantastic afternoon for an Introduction to Open Water Swimming session at Coll beach with Lauren, Sarah, Christopher, Fleming and Gillian. The sun was out and glancing through the sea onto the sand below the surface. Love seeing kids enjoying the open water safely and we all had fun catching waves on the way back in. Duckman was saying 14.5 degrees on average. Click here for website details: SurfLewis & Harris - Open Water Swimming A great afternoon of coastal swimming at traigh mhor (Tolsta) with Stuart & Ed. Sea was a tad too choppy for exploration of the caves and even the arch was not suitable for swimming through. You have to know when to say no. We did get through between the sea stacks for some further exploring on the other side. I was testing out the knuckleduster camera attachment that my brother Duncan made on his 3D printer. It worked really well with the lanyard. Duckman was saying 13.4 degrees on average. Good laugh in the surf coming back in to shore. So much to see and do there. Definitely be back for more coastal swim fun... Superb evening for a coastal swim at Garrabost with Stuart & Ed, starting off from the old slipway and working our way around some of the coast between rocks and through the arch. Some place for exploring. Loads of jellyfish though. Duckman was saying 14.4 degrees on average. We'll be back again for more...Check out the video on the right hand side. Great intro to open water swimming session with Andrea & Scott at Swordale bay this afternoon. Nice and sheltered from the Northerly wind. Plenty to see below the surface and we even saw a couple of seals too. Duckman was saying 14.2 degrees. A morning for double dipping starting with a skins swim with Ed at the Braighe in some good waves followed by a wetsuit swim with Joseph at Holm, which was a lot calmer. Duckman was saying 15.4 degrees at the Braighe and 14.4 degrees at Holm. Some difference in the conditions.... Wild Swimming with Phil down in Tolsta. A wetsuit swim around and into the caves at Gary beach followed by a visit to my favourite beach (Giordail) for some skins swimming, the sea is just so clear there. Duckman was saying 14.8 degrees (Gary) & 15.8 degrees (Giordail). Think Phil will be back for some more :) as will I.....Click here for website details: SurfLewis & Harris - Open Water Swimming |
