HEBSEASWIMMER - A HEBRIDEAN SWIM ADVENTURER

Sea was like a millpond this morning. Mhairi was in without the wetsuit for a while and Angus & myself did a lap of the beach. Saw our first seal of the year too. Duckman was saying 7.5 degrees average.

Another great pre work swim this week with Angus Murray. Duckman was saying 7.5 degrees in the sea and -0.5 on land. Lovely sunny morning as we got blinded by the bright object in the sky. Cracking way to start your day off :)

Great pre work 7am swim with Angus Murray at Coll Beach this morning. My first swim in a wetsuit in a while, stopped me having the shivers at work. Duckman was saying a neoprene toasty 6.8 degrees in the sea and on land it was 0.5 degrees.

Good mile swim at Coll Beach with Ed Smith this morning. Duckman was saying an average of 7.1 degrees. Had my wetsuit socks on this week to me feeling abit more toasty. Still got the shakes afterwards but not as bad as 2 weeks ago

6 swimmers (Stuart, Michael, Laura, Elly, Angus & myself) & Joseph in the kayak. Sea was not too wobbly and Duckman was saying from 5.6-6.5 degrees. Took me a while to get the feeling back in my legs when getting out at the end.

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

I've been a swimmer all my life and over the last several years I've done many challenging open water swims for charity all around our Islands which include the Sound of Barra & the Sound of Harris and both the Little & the Big Minch Channels to name a few.

Having a real passion for open water swimming, I spend a lot of my spare time looking for and discovering amazing new swim spots around the Islands.

I set up The Hebridean Sea Swimmers group in 2011 for all swimmers that live in or visit The Hebrides and it now has over 1000 members. I regularly meet up with visiting swimmers as I love to freely show off our Islands stunning swim locations.

SwimCamping and SwimHiking are my new adventures and having such an amazing playground on my doorstep is fantastic, double bagging my kit into the Lomo waterproof rucksack and swimming to an island for an overnight stay or longer is just the best.

Feel free to get in touch via the contact forms at the top of the page.
