Cracking conditions for a swim, going from the Braighe (broadbay side) to the pier at Portnaguran, stopping at Garrabost slipway and Shulishader steps bay for refuelling. When leaving Shulishader, I met a man out fishing, so had a quick chat with him before continuing on my way. Loads of seals as usual between Aignish and Garrabost with 4-5 swimming under me at one point. There was a boat out sorting lobster pots and another one getting ready to head out, as I came ashore. After getting changed, I walked home, passing through Flesherin taking the coastal path to Shulishader and home from there. Swim = 10k, Walk = 3.78k. Some beautiful rainbows today 🌈 Music by Beluga Lagoon Click here to watch the video

Fantastic Sunday swim with Gary, going from the Braighe (broadbay side) we took the inside of Stac Mòr Gharraboist since it was just deep enough to swim by, whilst the seals came out to say hello and around 4 followed us all the way - round the corner at Roisinis an Ear and over to the finish line at the old jetty at Garrabost. Couldn't get through the hole as the tide was too high. My watch clocked the distance as slightly over 4.3km. Fun times 😊 Music by Beluga Lagoon Click here to watch the video Thanks to Kellie for dropping me off at the Braighe on her way to work this morning, so I could swim back home. The seals came out from the shore near Stac Mòr Gharraboist with 4 of them swimming around me and 2 swam underneath me (it was a great experience) as I continued onwards towards the headland. I couldn't get through the Garrabost hole as the tide was too high but it was low enough for me to swim through the arch and between the small sea stacks before I stopped off at the slipway for a quick refuel of jelly babies and a swig of juice. I gave a wave to a seal that possibly followed me from the Stac as it disappeared. Continuing on towards Shulishader, I'm pretty sure I saw an Eagle perched on one of the headlands, flying off when it noticed me swimming along. Plenty of little fish darting about as well as interesting rock formations too. I came into the bay at Geodha nan Eathraichean (Boats' Gully) where my swim for the day ended, followed by a walk up the 88 steps and a walk back home. I headed straight over and just managed to get through (spring tides today so it wouldn't take long before the tide was too high, making it unsafe and impossible) then I swam back via the arch and a few loops around the small sea stacks. Met a nice couple from the mainland camping overnight. They pointed out an otter to me, amazing as I've only ever seen one there before over the years I've been swimming there. Around 42 minutes there and 29 on the return leg, assisted by the incoming tide. Lots of birds about and the seals came off the shore to greet me and a few followed me back. Not so clear underwater today. A cracking place for a swim. Music by Beluga Lagoon Click here to watch the video A cracking morning and flat calm sea made for a mini adventure swim from the Braighe (UI Church end) to slingshot around Stac Mòr Gharraboist and a return to base. The tide was a bit too low for me to be able to swim around the stac but it was manageable with a scramble. There were about 20-30 seals watching and following me, with a few tailing me back to the Braighe. Was fantastic to watch the seals playing underwater especially as it's so clear. Kind of overshot the cave, haha, but when we did find it on the way back, the tide was way too high anyway to get through. Really enjoyed exploring all the different inlets and caves plus finding new places. The water clarity is amazing as are the rock formations above and below sea level.
