Into the chop, I swam from Tràigh na Beirigh over to Bhacasaigh plodding on around the outside of the island till I got out at (Tòb an t-Seann Bhaile) which is one of the many bays and walked over to the usual bay I camp near. There were plenty of seals swimming about the bay, watching me, so I went for a swim but they never came close to me. I also went up a couple of small hills to take in the awesome views that Bhacasaigh has to offer. After dinner I got the campfire going, music on, kicked the football and watched the seals again. This is the first time I've camped on the island without any midges, or so I thought, as they started appearing during the night and got worse in the morning. I thought I pressed record on the camera on the way back but it turned out I'd just switched the camera on 🙈🤣 Anyway it was a nice swim back to the beach as it was a lot calmer than on the way over. Roasting hot sunshine made for weather I've never had before on a SwimCamp outing. I've been keen to take Kellie to the lagoon on Pabaigh Mhor for some time now and this weekend gave us an opportunity to do so. Going from Reef beach via the Siaram Mhor sand bar (we got out for a look around before carrying on across) to Pabaigh. We plonked Kellie's kayak in a safe place way above the high tide mark, then hiked across to the lagoon, where we set camp, checked out the cave and arch, had dinner, swam in the lagoon, watched the (slightly blocked by Pabaigh Beag) sunset, campfire and drinks. It's a beautiful place and I'm sure we'll be back there many more times. Not all the photos and videos are in the right order 😊 Can you see the photos marking out a Happy 25th birthday to my son James? Click here to view the YouTube Video from the outing |
