Thanks to some of the Lochbroom Wild Swimmers Group for coming out for a swim with me at the Jetty in Ullapool. A Heb Sea Swimmer on tour. Great way to spend some time before catching the ferry back to Stornoway. Nice swim round the boats with Seth, Kathryn and Tom. 16.09.2019
Photo's from the Highland Open Water Swim Corryvreckan Swim event. Really recommend this to swimmers. We were all very well looked after. A great day out with a superb bunch of people and exciting to do, swimming from Jura over to Scarba. Duckman was thrilled to get across! 15.09.2019
My photo's from swims in Loch Awe, Loch Avich, over to Easdale Island and a swim under the Bridge over the Atlantic. Great day out with Colleen Blair and Colin Mackinnon. What a laugh we had....14.09.2019
My photo's from a swim in Loch Oich and around Castle Stalker with swim chum Colin Mackinnon. Scotland really is an awesome place to swim. Duckman enjoyed his holidays...13.09.2019
Great afternoon swimming with Mike Shucksmith at Garry beach while his wife Bridget went for a walk over the bridge to nowhere to take in the views. Mike & myself were stunned by the amount of sand eels around the inlet, thousands of them. Just love open water swimming with the things that you see. Check out the video on the right hand side for a look at the sand eels.
My photo's from swimming with the group of visiting Fife Wild Swimmers at Carnish, Uig, Isle of Lewis. Great choice of beach and one I hadn't been to myself before. Crystal clear waters and loved the swim round the island, thanks for the invite. Duckman was saying 13.7 degrees average. Safe travels home and hope to see you's again in the future...

Great suggestion by Mike & Jayne for a quick skins swim at Coll beach this afternoon. Was good to be back at my training ground again. It's been a while. Won't leave it so long till the next time. Duckman was saying 12.9 degrees average. Think Mike's Crab needs an MOT @ 24 degrees???

Great day out in Pairc,South Lochs with Stuart, with a swim in Loch Gaineamhaich then a slog over the moor to Loch Shanndabhat swimming through the small channel to Loch Mhor Stiomrabhaigh. Getting out and following the river to the deserted village of Stiomrabhaigh (an oasis in the middle of moorland) for a look around before heading across to Loch Shaghachain for the final swim of the day with a walk back to the beautiful village of Orinsay. Duckman was saying anything from 13.6-14.5 degrees. Not forgetting 2 eagles, a buzzard and a large bird preying on a smaller bird (not sure if it got away) and a white throated diver. Stunning scenery! Click here for info on Stiomrabhaigh
Luskentyre was looking a bit moody this morning but great fun was had in the waves with Rob & Megan. Duckman was saying 13.8 degrees. Click here for website details: SurfLewis & Harris - Open Water Swimming

Fantastic afternoon for an Introduction to Open Water Swimming session at Coll beach with Lauren, Sarah, Christopher, Fleming and Gillian. The sun was out and glancing through the sea onto the sand below the surface. Love seeing kids enjoying the open water safely and we all had fun catching waves on the way back in. Duckman was saying 14.5 degrees on average. Click here for website details: SurfLewis & Harris - Open Water Swimming
A great afternoon of coastal swimming at traigh mhor (Tolsta) with Stuart & Ed. Sea was a tad too choppy for exploration of the caves and even the arch was not suitable for swimming through. You have to know when to say no. We did get through between the sea stacks for some further exploring on the other side. I was testing out the knuckleduster camera attachment that my brother Duncan made on his 3D printer. It worked really well with the lanyard. Duckman was saying 13.4 degrees on average. Good laugh in the surf coming back in to shore. So much to see and do there. Definitely be back for more coastal swim fun...
Superb evening for a coastal swim at Garrabost with Stuart & Ed, starting off from the old slipway and working our way around some of the coast between rocks and through the arch. Some place for exploring. Loads of jellyfish though. Duckman was saying 14.4 degrees on average. We'll be back again for more...Check out the video on the right hand side.
Great intro to open water swimming session with Andrea & Scott at Swordale bay this afternoon. Nice and sheltered from the Northerly wind. Plenty to see below the surface and we even saw a couple of seals too. Duckman was saying 14.2 degrees.
A morning for double dipping starting with a skins swim with Ed at the Braighe in some good waves followed by a wetsuit swim with Joseph at Holm, which was a lot calmer. Duckman was saying 15.4 degrees at the Braighe and 14.4 degrees at Holm. Some difference in the conditions....

A wetsuit swim around and into the caves at Gary beach followed by a visit to my favourite beach (Giordail) for some skins swimming, the sea is just so clear there. Duckman was saying 14.8 degrees (Gary) & 15.8 degrees (Giordail). Think Phil will be back for some more :) as will I.....Click here for website details: SurfLewis & Harris - Open Water Swimming
Great way to start the day off, with a swim in the sea. Mill-pond conditions with a grey mist coming and going. Nice to meet up with Ayla for a breast stroke swim along to the river and back. Duckman was saying 15.3 degrees which is amazing for 6am. Last swim of July 2019.
Photo's (courtesy of Colin Cameron Photography & Scott Davidson) from this year's Hebridean Triathlon that I help organise on the West Side of Lewis. Well done to everyone who took part and thanks to all the helpers who made it a safe and smooth event...No thanks to the midges and rain...Was also great to see some of the people that I have coached taking part, with one of them remarking that the swim was their favourite section of the race. This year I was helping out with the time keeping. Was interesting to see the Triathlon from a spectators point of view.....
Due to the warm temps we've been having, just had to get back in the sea again for another swim, no wetsuit this time. Millpond conditions. Duckman was saying 13.8 degrees. Plenty of crabs on the go as usual and 1 lion's mane. 5k @ 1hr35mins. Great way to start the day with a swim before work.....
Great way to kick off the day with a swim at Coll beach alongside Stewart, Mhairi and Chris. Duckman was saying 13.7 degrees. Good visibility, no jellyfish but plenty of crabs. 1 lap done. Good times...We were hearing thunder from over Point way on exiting the water. Mhairi & Chris said that they had seen lightning over Tiumpan Head lighthouse as they had been getting out ahead of Stewart and myself.
Fantastic swim/walk with Stuart this morning out to the Conachro bay tidal pool in Harris. A cracking natural lagoon full of wildlife and it even has a wee beach too which seemed a good place to scoff some jaffa cakes before they melted in the sun. Duckman was saying a toasty 14.6 degrees. An absolutely stunning place, some of the photo's just don't do it justice...
Cracking coastal swim with Grant at Traigh Mhor, Tolsta this evening. Water clarity was amazing, along with swimming in caves, through an arch, stunning scenery and plenty of wildlife too. Duckman was saying 13 degrees. We'll definitely be coming back here for more fun...
